The oldest son of Daniel E. Becnel, Jr. (Becket) graduated from Tulane University in 1987 where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. He attended Southern University Law Center and Loyola University School of Law, and after earning his Juris Doctor in 1991 Becket joined the Becnel Law Firm.

Becket is licensed to practice in all Louisiana State Courts, the U.S. District Courts in Louisiana and the U.S. 5th Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Louisiana State Bar Association, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. He has held elected office in the Louisiana State Bar Association as well as the St. John the Baptist Parish Bar Association.

Becket has extensive trial experience in both civil and criminal cases, State and Federal court cases and judge and jury trials. He has a vast knowledge of workers' compensation and personal injury law. Becket has won 90% of his criminal felony trials, including 2 aggravated rape trials. Becket was also a member of the Indigent Defender Board in St. John the Baptist Parish from 1993 to 1999. He currently works on cases involving but not limited to workers' compensation, criminal, family, personal injury and social security.
